Client Agreement Form

You understand and agree that until the completion of your trial in December this year, all work we do together will focus solely on resourcing, grounding and cultivating a sense of safety - not on processing or exploring past trauma. This approach supports your nervous system to stay steady, supported and resilient, and is aligned with your existing support systems.*

You understand that our sessions will focus primarily on Brainspotting, and may include coaching and psychoeducation as appropriate, depending on your needs and what arises during our work together. These elements are designed to complement one another and support your personal growth, wellbeing and resilience.*

You understand that sessions are 60 minutes long and will take place weekly via online video, at a mutually convenient time. Bookings will be made using the Calendly link provided at the time of signing this agreement (or any system that may replace it). This ensures flexibility while maintaining regular support.*

You understand that your participation is voluntary and that results vary by individual. You are responsible for your own wellbeing and decisions during and after the sessions. While every effort will be made to support your goals, no specific outcomes can be guaranteed.*

You understand that Brainspotting is a gentle but powerful process that helps the brain and body release stored emotional or physical stress.*

You understand that coaching focuses on self-awareness, mindset, and forward growth, rather than exploring or resolving past trauma.*

You understand that Brainspotting and coaching are distinct from psychotherapy, counselling, or mentoring, and are not substitutes for medical, psychological, or psychiatric care. They do not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders, as defined by the American Psychiatric Association or any other medical authority.*

You understand that your body and brain may continue processing for a few days after a session, sometimes slightly longer. Everyone integrates differently - some people feel lighter or tired, others more emotional or reflective. These are normal signs that your system is reorganising and releasing.*

To support integration, you’re encouraged to:

• Go gently and take it slower when possible for the next day or two following a session.

• Stay well hydrated and eat nourishing food.

• Move gently - walking, stretching, or breathing can help.

• Observe any emotions, sensations, or dreams without judgement.

You understand that if, after a session, anything feels too much, strange, or not as it should, you can reach out for a brief check-in to help your system settle.*

You understand that aftercare support is available via email or WhatsApp and that anything requiring more than a brief (up to 15-minute) exchange, will be continued in your next session.*

You acknowledge that Margot endeavours to respond to communications within 24 hours (Mon–Fri), and messages received outside those times will be answered as soon as possible the next business day.*

While our work is designed to be supportive, it does not replace crisis care. I do not provide on-call or emergency services. If you find yourself in distress or needing immediate assistance outside our sessions, please contact one of your existing therapists or a crisis service.

In an emergency, please call 111 or text/call 1737 for support from a trained counsellor, available 24/7.

You understand that Margot is appropriately qualified to provide these sessions and is completing certification as a Brainspotting Practitioner.*

You understand that Margot receives professional supervision as part of her certification, which may involve sharing anonymous and general aspects of sessions. No identifying details will ever be shared, unless there is reason to believe there is imminent risk of harm to you or others.*

You understand that Margot draws upon her background as a certified coach and trained Brainspotting practitioner to tailor sessions to your individual goals, combining insight-based and somatic approaches as appropriate.*

This work is designed to support and complement the care you are receiving from your current therapists. While we won’t explore deeper material at this time, I encourage you to keep your therapy team informed about our work together to support a safe, integrated experience.

You understand that all information shared in our sessions is treated as strictly confidential, except where required by law or where there is serious concern for your safety or that of another person.*

You understand that session notes are kept securely and privately by Margot for professional and legal reasons. These records are stored digitally in password-protected files and retained in accordance with relevant privacy legislation. You have the right to access or request correction of your personal information at any time.*

You agree to provide at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a session wherever possible.*

You understand that if three sessions are missed without 24 hours’ notice and there is no response to follow-up messages, Margot will assume the work is no longer a fit and this agreement will conclude, ensuring time is available for others awaiting support.*

Either party may end this agreement at any time by giving written notice. Outstanding sessions or commitments will be managed respectfully and in good faith.*

You acknowledge that while every effort will be made to provide a safe and professional service, Margot is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from participation in sessions. Your use of these services indicates acceptance of this limitation.*
